Description

that Swiss Way warm-up is a versatile warm-up program that aims to improve players' mobility, stability and sensory activation. It consists of three main parts:

  1. Sensory activation (3 minutes): Exercises to activate skin receptors, eye muscles and the balance system.
  2. Movement preparation (7 minutes): Exercises to mobilize joints such as ankles, hips, and spine.
  3. Motion control (5-10 minutes): Intensive exercises to improve sprints, direction changes and jumping power.

Coaching ACCENTS

  • Focus on doing the exercises cleanly, in particular when it comes to sensory activation and movement control.
  • Emphasis on correct posture and stability, e.g. during the standing scale or with the hip pendulum.
  • Feedback on visual and auditory stimuli to improve reaction time and coordination.

VARIATIONS

  • Different starting positions can be used to vary the exercises (e.g. sprints from different starting positions).
  • Changes of direction and jumps can be initiated by visual or acoustic signals to train the ability to react.
  • Complementary mobility and stability exercises can be added as needed.
  • MAKE EASIER

  • Reduce the duration of practice or the number of repetitions, e.g. only 3 landings instead of 6 with drop sets.
  • Less demanding variants of running school (only forwards and sideways instead of backwards).
  • Shortening distances during sprints and changes of direction
  • Increase difficulty

  • Increase the intensity of explosive jumps by increasing the number of jumps per variant.
  • More repetitions or longer distances in sprints and running schools (e.g. 10 sprints instead of 5).
  • Integration of forms of competition (e.g. duels) or obstacles during practice sessions.
